Hailing from the southwest corner of Missouri, on the edge of the Ozark Plateau, John Jones is a historian of interreligious interaction, religious persecution, and the development of Christian identity in Late Antiquity (200-900 AD).
John recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master of Arts in Social Sciences (History). Before moving to Chicago, he earned a BA in History with a minor in Classical Studies and a BS in Linguistics at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. When he’s not busy writing or translating various works, you can usually find him enjoying a nice cup of coffee with a book in hand, or working on this blog. John is a fan of the works of Abraham Joshua Heschel, JRR Tolkien, and CS Lewis, as well as the ever-informative comics of Bill Watterson.
“Never once in my life did I ask God for success or wisdom or power or fame. I asked for wonder, and he gave it to me.”
