Lights festooned, a sunless sky

A winter wind begins to blow

Flocking to the heat inside

Embers swirling – red ribbons glow

Gathering ’round, stories shared

Klompen rest before the fire

Sister Winter hangs in the air

Another coffee, then we’ll retire

The season comes and goes so quick

Glad Christmas tidings come with joy and cheer

The last candle is now burnt down to the wick

As we pack it all away and wait for next year
